Fast start powers Banes to 6th victory
Exploding for 9 runs in the first inning, Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing went on to defeat Tats & Bats 22-9 Monday to improve to 6-0 in Medina Women’s Softball League competition.
Doubles by Hannah LaGrou and Connie Heschke highlighted the decisive first inning uprising which also included singles by Heschke, Robin Blaun, Kathy Allen, Jessica Carpenter and Jen Masse.
Keeping the momentum, Banes quickly tacked on 8 more runs in the second inning on a home run by LaGrou, a triple by Grace Masse, doubles by Carpenter and Heschke and singles by Patti Page, Sue Seefeldt, Jen Masse, Blaun and Kathy Allen.
LaGrou also had a home run and Allen a triple to key a 5 run third inning.
Heschke and Blaun both went 5 for 5 on the evening and LaGrou 4 for 4.
