A quick two touchdown scoring burst in the first five and a half minutes ignited Attica to a 35-0 victory over host Holley this afternoon in a Livingston County League football game.

Mason Compton scored on touchdown runs of 26 and 15 yards and Dawson Nelson added the first two of his five extra point kicks to give Attica a 14-0 lead before the game was six minutes old.

Holley’s Matt Hahn tackles Attica’s Mason Compton who scored the Blue Devils first two touchdowns.

The Blue Devils increased the lead to 21-0 at the half when quarterback Edward Strzelec scored on a 6 yard run with just 1:38 remaining in the second quarter.

Attica capped off the win with second half touchdown runs of 59 yards by Mike Donohue with 3:38 remaining in the third quarter and of 2 yards by Seth Chilano with 4 minutes to go in the final period, a tally he set up himself with a 39 yard run on the previous snap.

Holley, which failed to cross midfield on six possessions in the first half, could get no closer than the Attica 25 in the second half.

A 25 yard run by Jacob Affronti, which helped Holley reach the Attica 40 early in the third quarter, was the Hawks biggest gain of the day.

Defensively, for the Hawks, Jeremy Mallett had an interception near the Hawks goal line to stop a Blue Devils drive just before half-time.

Attica is now 1-1 and Holley 0-2.

The Hawks next visit Alexander on Friday.  Alexander improved to 2-0 with a 34-0 win over Pembroke on Friday.
