Fast start keys Banes romp
Exploding for 8 quick runs in the first inning, Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing went on to defeat Jr. Wilson 17-4 Monday to improve to 3-0 in the Medina Women’s Softball ‘A’ League.
A triple and double by Jen Masse highlighted the decisive first inning scoring burst which also included singles by Sue Seefeldt, Patti Page, Jen Molisani and Amy Allis.
Banes then put a firm lock on the win by scoring 6 runs in the third frame as Alisha Foss, Allis, Seefeldt, Masse, Sarah Surdel, Page and Molisani all contributed singles.
Masse and Surdel both went 4 for 4 on the evening.
Butchie Stockwell had 2 hits for Jr. Wilson which scored twice in the third and sixth innings.
