Fall high school sports practice begins

Photos by Mike Wertman – The fall high school sports season got underway today with the first day of practice for area football, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf and cross-country teams. Here new Albion head varsity football Coach David Skrip works on a drill with some of the Purple Eagles linemen. The Purple Eagles will open the season at home on September 3 against Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville.

Defending C North Division and Section VI Class C champion Medina got practice underway this afternoon at Vets Park. Here some of the Mustangs linemen work on a blocking drill. The Mustangs will open the season at home on September 3 with a non league game against Timon. Click here to view a video from practice this afternoon.

Here working on a passing drill are members of the Albion girls varsity soccer squad. Albion will host a season opening tournament on September 2 and 4 which will include Sweet Home, Kenmore West and Starpoint.

Albion boys varsity soccer squad players work on a ball control drill. The Purple Eagles will open the season at the Holley Tournament taking on Alden in the first round on August 31.
