Fair Schedule for Monday, July 24 (Opening Day)

9 a.m. – Senior Council Stand opens

8 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Commercial Exhibits in place

8 a.m. – Cloverbud Horse Show followed by Walk/Trot Horse Show at Carlos Marcello Arena

Matthew Bloom of Albion tries to get his pig onto the scale after the pig arrived by trailer. The pig took a break. Behind Matthew are his uncle Andy Beach, pig superintendent Julie Donofrio and Jack Cecchini who is also showing pigs at the fair. The pigs were weighed in to determine which class they will be in and also for those that will be in the market auction.

9 a.m. – Rabbit and Poultry Meeting for all exhibitors at Wachob Building

9:20 a.m. – Cattle Barn Department Meeting for all exhibitors at Cattle Barn

9:40 a.m. – Goat/Sheep Department meeting for all exhibitors        Goat/Sheep Barn

10 a.m. . – Market Auction Weigh-In

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Common Garden Vegetables, Market Packages, Cut Flowers, Indoor Gardening, Fruits and Nuts, Plant Collection (Preserved and Scrapbook), Landscape Pictures and Plants, Experiments, Horticulture Methods judged at Trolley Building

11 a.m. – Field Crops judged at Trolley Building

Gracie Erion of Byron leads a dairy animal of the trailer and into the cattle barn. The cattle numbers are up this year.

1 to 3 p.m. . – Group Exhibits, Food Preservation, Baked Goods and Visual Arts judged at Trolley Building

4 p.m. – Paid admission begins at Wood and Taylor Hill Road Parking Lots

4 p.m. – Digital Literacy and Connect Orleans Cyber Lounge (with charging station) at Lartz Building

4 to 10 p.m. – Museum Corner: Photo station, history, and stone exploration exhibit, by the Cobblestone Museum and Sandstone Society at Lartz Bulding

4 to 10 p.m. – Painted Sky Ranch Pony Rides at Cattle Barn lawn area

4 to 10 p.m. – Free Psychic Readings by the Shushed Charlatan at Lartz Building

4 p.m. – 4-H Leaders’ Pie Stand opens at Pie Stand

4 p.m. – Free Entertainment: Doc Magic at Knight’s Green Space

5 p.m. – Free Entertainment: Wonderland Circus at Trolley Building Lawn

Josally Silversmith, 11, of Lyndonville has her French lop rabbit “Bob Marley” checked by Barb Kurzowski, the rabbit superintendent. Josally’s father Jay Silversmith joins her at the check-in table. Bob Marley is a good-size rabbit and weighed in at 12 pounds, 4 ounces. Kurzowski said about 120 rabbits are at the fair this week.

8 to 10 p.m. – Orleans County 4-H Fair $1,000 Karaoke Contest at Orleans Hub Stage

10 p.m. – Buildings close throughout event
