Electricity restored throughout Orleans County

National Grid has restored power to all of its customers in Orleans County.

The county had as many as 8,046 National Grid customers without electricity at 9 p.m. on Saturday. That was 41 percent of NG’s 19,601 customers.

That was down to 1,683 last evening at 7 p.m. and by 4 p.m. today there were only 2 without power.

Orleans County was among the hardest hit of National Grid’s customer base from the windstorm on Saturday with gusts peaking near 70 miles per hour.

National Grid had 221,000 customers without electricity in Upstate New York. That was down to 52 total at 8:47 p.m.
