Jumping out to a 12-0 first quarter lead, Elba/Byron-Bergen went on to defeat visiting Holley 32-6 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League football game.

A 67 yard return of the opening kickoff set up Elba/Byron-Bergen’s first score and the Lancers doubled the advantage before the opening quarter was over.

The Lancers later capitalized on a Holley fumble to open the second half and went in for a score to make it 19-0 on a 30 yard TD pass to John Hochmuth.

Elba/Byron-Bergen led 25-0 after three quarters on a TD run by Richard Flores and 32-0 early in the final period on a tally by Steele Truax..

Holley got on the scoreboard with just under three minutes to go on a 4 yard touchdown run by Zach Day.

Several runs by Glen Robb, who switched from his normal line position into the backfield, along with a 13 yard pass completion from quarterback Nick Passarell to Zach Vaccarelli down to the Lancers 4 keyed the drive.

Elba/Byron-Bergen improves to 2-0 in G-R action while Holley slips to 0-2.

The Hawks next host CG Finney in a non league game next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
