Early goal keys Kendall girls to shutout victory in soccer sectionals opener

A quick goal in the first two minutes sparked No. 4 Kendall to a 4-0 victory over visiting No. 13 Pavilion this evening in the opening round of the Section V Class D-1 girls soccer playoffs.

Michela Hanlon scored the early goal off an assist from Taylor ReQua to get Kendall off and running.

The Lady Eagles doubled their advantage before half-time as Madison Jacob scored at the 20 minute mark from Kayla Summers.

Kendall then put a firm lock on the victory with a pair of second half goals by ReQua 10 minutes in and by Abby Jenks nine minutes later off an assist from Hanlon.

Hannah Ulmen earned the shutout in goal making 3 saves.

Improving to 13-4, Kendall will next face  No. 12 Bishop Kearney, a 2-1 winner over No. 5 Naples, in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The Lady Eagles nipped Kearney 1-0 early in the season in the Kendall Tournament.
