Looking to keep the momentum from last spring’s strong sectional run, Kendall is prepping to head into Genesee Region League competition led by a nucleus of five returning starters.

That veteran quintet includes seniors Justin Barrett (outfield/pitcher), Mookie Nauden (outfield/pitcher), Zach Vogt (catcher) along with juniors Colton Breslawski (shortstop/pitcher) and Cody Spellan (third base/pitcher).

“It’s a small squad (11 players) but this group has clicked,” said Coach Tige Noni whose Eagles upset three higher seeded teams to reach the sectional finals last year before being nipped 3-0 by Avon in the Class CC title contest. “Our young kids will have to step up but our hopes are high. I think we can come together and be competitive.”

The Eagles key losses to graduation were pitcher Alex Sutphen, catcher Richie Swift, first baseman Garrett Love and outfielder Dave Hardenbrook.

Kendall is scheduled to open the G-R season at Lyndonville on April 7.
