Eagles best rival Hawks for Homecoming win

A quick three goal scoring burst in a span of just five minutes late in the first half keyed Kendall to a 3-1 Homecoming victory over visiting rival Holley this afternoon in a Genesee Region League boys soccer game.

Kendall snapped a scoreless deadlock when Nate Warters scored with 6:46 to go in the first half off an assist from John Rath.

The Eagles then quickly ballooned the lead to 3-0 when Warters scored again on a header from Nick Richardson with 2:35 remaining and Rath scored off an assist from Mickey Gardner with just 1:01 remaining.

Holley got on the scoreboard when John Mounts tallied with 27 minutes to go in the second half but the Hawks could not find the net again.

Anchoring the defense for Kendall was goalie Hunter Menze who made several key saves.

Kendall is now 3-4 in the league and 5-6 overall while Holley is 1-4-1, 5-4-2.

Albion 1, CCA 0

Albion nipped host CCA 1-0 this afternoon in a non league soccer game as Harrison Brown netted the lone goal with 15 minutes to go in the second half off an assist from Tom Hollenback.

Devin Gaylord earned the shutout in goal.
