Eagle Harbor lift bridge reopens a week early
EAGLE HARBOR – Motorists in Orleans County received good news on Wednesday. The lift bridge in Eagle Harbor reopened to traffic about a week early.
The bridge closed on July 15 for a repair and was expected to reopen on Aug. 2.
But on Wednesday it was back in action, carrying vehicles across the Erie Canal.
The bridge was built in 1910. The bridge was previously closed for about six weeks in 2022 for repairs.
