Eagle booters need OT to keep slate clean

KENDALL: A freshman just called up from the JV ranks provided the margin of victory as Kendall edged Batavia 1-0 in overtime this afternoon to remain undefeated on the season at 12-0.

Jake Adams scored the game’s lone goal in overtime for Kendall which next hosts Attica in a key Genesee Region League game at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Attica nipped visiting Holley 1-0 in a G-R contest this afternoon.

Wilson 4, Albion 0
WILSON – A quick burst of three goals within a span of seven minutes midway through the first half sparked Wilson to a 4-0 victory over Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

Nathan Johnson scored two of Wilson’s goals during that key stretch.

Wilson, which tied with Albion 0-0 in their earlier meeting, improves to 2-6-1 while the Purple Eagles slip to 2-7-1.

Girls Soccer

Kendall 2, Wheatland-Chili 0
CHILI – An early goal by Taylor ReQua, off an assist from her sister Toni ReQua, sparked Kendall to a 2-0 victory over Wheatland-Chili this evening in a Genesee Region League make-up game.

A second half goal by Jaimie Smith put a lock on the Lady Eagles victory as Rachel Ackles earned the assist.

Jorden Ammerman earned the shut-out in goal.

Kendall improves to 8-1-2 in the league while W-C slips to 5-3-2.

Alden 4, Medina 3
ALDEN – A late rally fell just short as Medina dropped a 4-3 decision to Alden this afternoon in a non league game.

Trailing 4-1 at the half, Medina battled back to within one on goals by Destiny Szatkowski and Max Wright, both off assist from Taylor Miller, but the Mustangs could not net the equalizer. Taylor also scored Medina’s lone first half goal.

Medina next hosts CSAT at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
