Dynamites win Boys of Summer Tourney

The Dynamites 11U travel baseball won 3 straight games to capture their first tournament win of the season at the recent Boys of Summer Kickoff.

After dropping the first game of the tournament, the Dynamites battled back, outscoring their opponents 31-4 the rest of the way.

The Dynamites dismissed Academy Stars 11-1 in the championship game. Xander Payne pitched 4 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5. Brian Baes had 2 hits while Joe Cecchini, Aidan Paul, Payne, Thomas Russo and Kaiden Wisniewski each chipped in with 1 hit apiece.

In the semifinals, the Dynamites avenged their only loss of the tournament by beating Titans Baseball 13-1. Russo went4 innings on the mound, scattering 3 hits while striking out 5. Cecchini had 3 hits while Amari Jones and Ryan Mettler had 2 hits each and Javon Jones, Paul, Payne, Wisniewski and Iverson Poole 1 hit each. Poole’s hit was a double.

The Dynamites took care of business in the second game of the tournament to qualify for the day two championship round by defeating Orchard Park Thunder 7-2. Russo pitched4 innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out 3. Mettler pitched the other 3 innings allowing only 1 run. Offensively,  Javon Jones had 2 hits, including a double. Cecchini, Payne, Paul, Russo, Jay Heideman and Amari Jones each had 1. Amari Jones hit was a double.
