Dynamites score two wins to open tourney
The Dynamites 16U Travel Team scored a pair of victories today to open competition in the Cap Classic Baseball Tournament being held in Cheektowaga.
The Dymnamites opened with a 12-0 run rule victory over the 716 Patriots.
A huge 8 run first inning quickly broke the contest wide open as Evan Poeller had a double, Ryleigh Culver a two-run double, Jax Brinley a two-run single and Vinny Gray an RBI single.
Tyler Kroening tacked on a two-run double to key a 4 run second inning.
The Dynamites then turned back a late inning rally to nip the Angels 4-3.
The Dynamites built up a 4-0 lead by scoring once in the first on a hit batter, twice in the fifth on singles by Culver and Brody Fry and once in the sixth on a ground out off the bat of Culver for what proved to be the game winner.
The Angels made the finish exciting by rallying for 3 runs in the seventh inning.
Improving to 10-3, the Dynamites will play two more games in the tournament on Saturday.
