Jumping out to an early lead, the Dynamites never looked back in defeating divisional rival TItans Baseball from Cheektowaga 17-7 Thursday night in Hartland.

Xander Payne started on the mound for the Dynamites and proved to be too much for the Titans. He faced a total of 11 batters across 3 innings giving up 1 run and striking out 4. Thomas Russo and Amari Jones came in to relieve Payne to hold off a 4th inning comeback and eventually take care of the Titans in a 5 inning game due to a 10 run league mercy rule.

At the plate, the Dynamites scored 4 runs in the first inning on a lead off walk by Ryan Mettler and followed by singles by Javon and Amari Jones. Joe Cecchini then had a one out single to plate another run and was able to get home on a pass ball.

The Dynamites exploded in the third putting up 10 runs, capped off by a three- run towering home run by Iverson Poole extending the lead to 14 to 1. Brian Baes, Kaeden Wisnieski, and Russo all had hits combined with 4 walks and a couple of errors sealed the Titans fate.

The Titans tried to answer in the fourth with a rally of their own but only manage to put up 4 runs and left runners in scoring position. Amari Jones came up big with a defensive stop at shortstop to get the batter and stop the Titans rally.

After the Titans shut down the Dynamites bats in the 4th, they were able to put up 2 more runs in the top of the fifth. But good pitching once again proves to be the winner against good batting. Amari Jones pitched out of what could have been a big inning for the Titans when they stranded the bases loaded. The final two batters were struck out and grounded out to end the inning.

After one out in the bottom of the fifth, Payne hit a one out single and stole second. Baes then drove in Payne on a single to right field and stole second with some heads up base running. Wisnieski then hit a single to advance Baes to third.  Poole was hit by a pitch to load up the bases. Mettler then hit a double to right field driving in the winning runs and giving the Dynamites its third win against the Titans this year.
