Dynamites dominate at Darien Tourney

The Dynamites 10U travel baseball team continued their winning ways at the rain-shortened Darien Lake Tournament winning three games before play was halted.

That ups the Dynamites tournament games winning streak to 8 games this season. They have outscored their opponents during this stretch 103-10.

The Dynamites downed the Erie Steelheads 5-3 in the first game. Thomas Russo pitched four innings, allowing only one hit and two runs, striking out seven and Ryan Mettler pitched the other two innings with two hits and one run allowed. Joe Cecchini had two hits, including a double. Amari Jones and Brian Baes each hit a double. Jon Conley, Jay Heideman and Mettler also each had hit.

Game two brought the same result for another Pennsylvania team as the Dynamites defeated the Conneault Crushers by a mark of 10-1. Amari Jones pitched the first four innings allowing 1 run and striking out seven. Mettler did not allow a hit in the final two innings and struck out two. Aidan Paul hit two doubles. Russo had two hits, including a double. Iverson Poole and Amari Jones also had two hits apiece. Cecchini and Javon Jones each also had a hit.

In the third and final game before the premature end of the tournament, the Dynamites beat Shannon Homerun Baseball out of Syracuse 16-6. Xander Payne pitched all four innings of the mercy-rule shortened game, allowing two hits while striking out six . Offensively, Amari Jones had three hits. Payne added two hits, including a triple. Cecchini and Poole also had two hits. Conley, Javon Jones, Baes and Paul each had a hit.
