Dynamites compete in PBR Futures Tourney

The Dynamite 13U Travel Baseball competed in the PBR Futures 13U tournament this past weekend which started off with a close 5-4 decision over one of the Academy Stars team.

Xander Payne started on the mound and went 4 innings and only giving up 2 runs on 3 hits with 3 strike outs. Ryan Mettler came in relieve to pitch 1 and 1/3 innings and Joe Cecchini finished off the Stars with one pitch with the tying run on 3rd.

A Klodzinski to Mettler to Baes double play ended any comeback hopes for the Stars.

At the plate, Payne led the Dynamites with two hits while Jack Klodsinski, Kaeden Wisnieski, Mettler, and Aidan Paul each had one.

In game 2 the Dynamites couldn’t bounce back from a devastating 10 run second inning to drop a 10-5 loss to the second Academy Stars team.

In Sunday playoff’s, The Dynamites couldn’t hold off a familiar foe, Rochester Cougars dropping a 6-2 decision and ending the tournament for the Dynamites.

The Dynamites score 2 runs in the 2nd inning on hits by Jim Terryberry driving in Cecchini and Blaze Brinley driving in Wisnieski who also had a hit in the inning. The Dynamites took the 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 6 inning where a 6 run rally ended the day for the Dynamites.

Mettler pitched 5 scoreless innings for the Dynamites as Tyler Gibson caught the game and had 2 put outs at 2nd base.

At the plate, Terryberry had 3 hits, Wisnieski 2, and Brinley, Payne and Klodzinski each added one apiece.

Next up for the Dynamites will be the Darien Lake Tournament this weekend.
