Dynamites compete in 585 diamond tourney

It was a busy couple of days for the Dynamites Travel U15 baseball team which went 2-2 at a 585 Tournament in Rochester.

The Dynamites opened the tourney on Friday splitting a pair of one run games losing 5-4 to the Erie Steelheads and winning 6-5 over the Bomb Squad. The Steelheads plated the winning run in the bottom of the seventh after the Dynamites had tied the contest at 3-3 in the fifth on an error and again at 4-4 in the sixth on a wild pitch.

The Dynamites trimmed the Bomb Squad by scoring twice in the sixth on an error and a sacrifice fly by Vinny Gray.

Earlier, the Dynamites grabbed a 4-2 lead in the fourth on two errors and a single by Gray. The Bomb Squad regained a brief 5-4 lead by tallying three times in the fifth.

The Dynamites again split a pair of game on Saturday losing 6-2 to Diamond Pro and winning 8-7 over the Warthogs.

The Dynamites grabbed a quick first inning lead over Diamond Pro on a two-run single by Ryleigh Culver but could not cross home plate again. Singles by Brody Fry and Gray and a walk set up the threat.

Diamond Pro scored 4 runs in the seventh with two out to snap a 2-2 tie and claim the win.

Rebounding the Dynamites nipped the Warthogs by scoring 3 times in the seventh on a walk, a wild pitch and a single by Gray.

Earlier, the Dynamites scored in the first on a double by Fry, in the third on a single by Tyler Kroening and in the fourth on a steal of home and an error. Kroening had a pair of hits.
