Dutchmen edge Raiders in OT in opener

Holland outlasted visiting Barker 77-71 in overtime in a season opening non league boys basketball game this evening.

Barker sent the contest into overtime deadlocked at 65-65 as Aidan Mescall hit two pressure free throws with 13 seconds remaining.

However, the Dutchmen outscored the Raiders 12-6 in the overtime period to claim the win.

The Raiders led 45-43 after three quarters after trailing by margins of 14-9 at the end of the first quarter and 28-26 at the half.

Brad Cantrell took game high scoring honors for the Raiders with 23 as Aidan Voss had 19, Luey Castro 16 and Mescall 10.

Barker next visits Elba for another non league game at 7 p.m. Thursday.

CSAT 33, Barker 26
Trailing 16-14 at the half, CSAT rallied to outscore host Barker 19-10 in the second half to claim a 33-26 non league season opening win.

CSAT led 27-23 heading into the final period.

Mia Herman scored 7 and Lillia Peace and Kiera Dalton each had 6 to lead the way for Barker which next faces Holley at 6 p.m. Thursday in the opening round of the Kendall Tournament.
