Dukes to join Loughlin’s Wall of Fame

The holder of most of Medina’s scoring and rushing records, Kevin Dukes will be inducted into the John “Pinky” Loughlin Football Wall of Fame during the Mustangs Homecoming game Friday (7 p.m.) against Dunkirk at Vets Park.

Dukes, a four year varsity player (2003-06), holds the Mustangs single season records for most rushing touchdowns (23), most total touchdowns (26), most points (180) and most yards rushing (1,748) all set during the 2006 campaign.

He also holds the career marks for most touchdowns (57), most points (375) and most yards rushing (3,913).

Dukes becomes the 12th inductee to the Wall of Fame. The previous inductees include Ernie Clark, Norm Goheen, Carlton “Duke” Little, David Fluellen, Jim Snyder, Brian Fry, Richard “Dick” Miller, Charlie Pettit, Charlie Wilson, Ronnie Taylor and David Maiorana.

The Wall of Fame is named in honor of Loughin who coached the Mustangs for 24 years (1955-78) guiding the team to 13 Niagara-Orleans League titles and 135 wins.
