Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Anchoring the Lyndonville lineup will be this group of veterans including, in front, Jacob Pitcher, Daniel Barry and Justin Higgins. In back are Payton Grabowski, Trenton Muck, Ian Mank and Alex Farrell. Missing from the photo is Colton Smith.
Boasting a good number of returnees, Lyndonville will begin prepping for the upcoming Genesee Region League baseball season with a pair of non league contests this week.
The Tigers are scheduled to host CG Finney at 4:30 this afternoon and then visit Barker at 4:30 Friday.
Returning from last year’s Tigers squad are seniors Trenton Muck (pitcher/outfield), Alex Farrell (outfield), Payton Grabowski (second base/catcher), Ian Mank (outfield), Christian Garver (second base/shortstop) and Alan Heideman (outfield) along with juniors Justin Higgins (third base/pitcher) and Daniel Barry (first base/outfield), sophomore Jacob Pitcher (outfield) and freshman Colton Smith (outfield/shortstop/pitcher). Rounding out the squad are sophomore Cole Moyle (catcher/pitcher) and eighth grader Quincy McClinsey (third base/pitcher).
The Tigers graduation losses included G-R All-Star catcher Jack Whipple and pitcher/infielder Roman Heinsler.
Lyndonville grad Brad Hoffee takes over the Tigers coaching reins with the retirement of Shane Price.
The Tigers, which went 5-8 in G-R action last spring, are slated to begin league play on April 12 at Elba.
