Diamond sectionals resume Tuesday

Baseball and softball playoff action resumes Tuesday after the holiday weekend break with semifinal games in Section V and quarterfinal contests in Section VI.
In Section V semifinal round baseball action, No. 2 Holley will face Genesee Region League foe No. 3 Alexander at LeRoy in Class CC and No. 2 Lyndonville will take on No. 3 Arkport at Genesee Community College in Class DD both at 4:30 p.m.
The Holley vs. Alexander victor will take on the winner of the No. 1 East Rochester vs. No. 5 Avon in the CC finals on Friday. The Hawks defeated the Trojans twice during the G-R season by scores of 7-1 and 5-2.
The Lyndonville vs.Arkport victor will take on the winner of the No. 1 Alfred-Almond vs. No. 4 Genesee Valley contest in the DD title contest on Friday.
In Section V semifinal softball competition No. 3 Lyndonville will face No. 10 Hammondsport in Class DD at 5 p.m. at Wayne Central. The victor with take on the winner of the No. 1 Arkport vs. No. 4 Elba game in the finals.
In Section VI baseball quarterfinal action No. 4 Medina will host No. 5 Tonawanda in Class B1 at 5 p.m. The victor will face the winner of the No. 8 Eden vs. No. 1 City Honors game in the semifinals on Thursday.
Class B2 quarterfinal match ups will have No. 5 Roy-Hart at No. 4 CSAT, No. 6 Akron at No. 3 Southwestern and No. 10 Wilson at No. 2 JFK, all at 5 p.m.
In a Class C quarterfinal, No. 8 Barker visits No. 1 Gowanda at 5 p.m.
In Section VI Class B2 softball quarterfinal action, top seeded Roy-Hart hosts No. 5 Falconer at 5 p.m.
In Class C, No. 8 Barker visits No. 1 Olmsted at 5 p.m.
