Diamond Jacks deal Nationals tourney loss

Stymied on only three hits, the Niagara Nationals dropped a 9-1 decision to the Diamond Jacks this afternoon in the second round of the Diamond Nation Tournament in New Jersey.

The Nationals scored a quick run in the first inning on a pair of walks and a fielders choice play off the bat of Aiden Johnston but could not cross home plate again.

The Nationals did get runners to second and third with no outs in the second inning after a walk and an error but could not capitalize.

David Belsito, Trevor Luthart and Carson Harper each had a hit for the Nationals which are now 1-1 in the tourney.

The Diamond Jacks scored solo runs in each of the first three innings and then pulled away with 2 more in the fourth and 4 in the fifth.
