Depew tops Medina in Class B state qualifier
Scoring 3 quick runs in the first inning, Depew went on to defeat Medina 5-2 this evening at Williamsville North to capture the Section VI Class B softball championship and a berth in the state playoffs.
Depew, which advanced to the state qualifier by defeating Alden 2-0 for the B1 title last Thursday, added a pair of insurance runs in the fourth frame.
Medina’s 2 runs came in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Alisha Scroger and an RBI double by Ryenn Oliver.
Destiny Satkowski also had 2 hits on the evening for the Mustangs.
Medina gained a spot in the state qualifier by downing Eden 5-4 last Thursday in theClass B2 championship game.
