DEC officer and farmer untangle 2 bucks with locked antlers

BARRE – These bucks had there antlers locked on Gillette Road in the Town of Barre on Sept. 24. DEC environmental conservation officer Nathan Godson worked with a local farmer to free the two bucks.
Godson arrived at the scene and observed the two large bucks had their antlers so intertwined they could barely move.
Using a winch, catch pole, Sawzall, and a tractor for elevation, Godson and the local farmer removed three antlers. Eventually, both bucks were freed from one another and soon ran off into the woods unharmed.
