A last inning rally fell just short as Medina dropped a 3-2 decision to host CSAT this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game.

Trailing 3-0 Medina rallied for two runs in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Tyler Ames and an error but the comeback bid came up short as the Mustangs left runners stranded at second and third. A walk and a single by Brad McPherson set up the opportunity.

CSAT scored all of its runs in the first inning on a two-run triple by Matt Kiblin and an RBI single by Jose Jimenez.

CSAT is now 6-5 and Medina 5-6.

The Mustangs next host Akron at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Barker 8, Newfane 6
Breaking a 6-6 deadlock, Barker scored twice in the sixth inning on a bases loaded walk and an error to edge past Newfane 8-6.

The Raiders also had a big five run second inning which included singles by Chauncy Mckee, Ryan Voss, Brad Wilson and Devon Mangon along with run producing sacrifices by Mike Snell and Collin Webb.

Barker is now 7-5 and Newfane 1-10 in N-O action.

Roy-Hart 9, Tonawanda 6
Brandon Hess had 3 hits and 3 RBIs to lead Roy-Hart at the plate in the 9-6 non league win over Tonawanda.

Tim Maines earned the win on the mound while Eric Fitch picked up the save.
