CSAT ‘9’ ousts Roy-Hart; Barker bows

No. 4 seed CSAT, which defeated No. 5 Roy-Hart twice during the Niagara-Orleans League season, did it again this afternoon as the Eagles trimmed the Rams 5-3 in a Section VI Class B2 quarterfinal.

CSAT took the lead for good by scoring 4 quick runs in the first inning on 3 walks, 2 hits and an error.

Roy-Hart did rally back to within one at 4-3 by scoring 3 times in the sixth inning on hits by Andy Xapsos, CJ Fitch and Joe Nolan. However, the Rams could not pull even as they left 2 runners stranded in the seventh.

Nolan and Ben Maynard both had 2 hits on the day for the Rams.

Class C

Gowanda 8, Barker 0

Top seeded Gowanda used a 5 run first inning scoring burst on 3 hits and 2 walks to key an 8-0 win over No. 8 Barker in a Class C quarterfinal.

Collin Webb had 2 hits for Barker.
