ALBION – The Orleans County Legislature has given formal approval for a new veterans’ memorial to be built at Courthouse Square.

A new flag pole already has been erected as part of the memorial being funded by the Albion Knights of Columbus Council No. 1330.

The County Legislature last week approved an agreement with the Knights of Columbus, giving the organization permission to construct and maintain the memorial with a stipulation the K of C “agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the County of Orleans, its officers, employees and agents from and against any and all liability, loss claim, damage or expense, including defense costs and legal fees, incurred in connection with the construction and maintenance of said Veterans Memorial.”
