Corfu man charged with selling cocaine in Albion

ALBION – A Corfu man faces drug charges after being stopped in Albion on Wednesday and allegedly having cocaine packaged for sale in his vehicle, the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force is reporting.

Steven R. Kimmel, 47, of 9164 Alleghany Rd. has been charged with two counts each of criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, which are Class B felonies.

He was stopped by the Task Force and Albion Police Department on South Main Street. Task Force members seized cocaine that was packaged for sale, the Task Force said today.

Kimmel was arraigned in Albion Town Court by Town Justice Joseph Fuller. Kimmel was remanded to the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. He is to return to Albion Town Court at 9 a.m. on Jan. 3.

The Task Force said additional arrests and charges are pending in this investigation.
