Cooper sweeps sprints at sectionals

Putting on a decisive burst at the finish line in both events, Medina High sophomore Jalin Cooper scored an impressive sweep by capturing both the 100 and 200 sprints this afternoon at the Section VI Division 2 (small schools) championships at Pioneer High School to earn a trip to the state meet. Cooper captured the 100 in a time of :11.02 and the 200 in :22.82 to claim the pair of narrow victories. The Mustangs also had Chase Pecoraro finish 4th in the Pentathlon and Martha Gardner take 3rd in the 800 and 4th in the Steeplechase.
