Tuning up for next weekend’s conference championships, Albion High graduate and SUNY Brockport senior Chanyce Powell scored a pair of victories in the jumps Saturday at the host Golden Eagles Invitational.

Posting season best efforts in both events, Powell won the Long Jump with a leap of 5.42 meters and the Triple Jump with a leap of 11.65 meters.

Powell and her Brockport teammates will now compete at the SUNY Athletic Conference championships beginning Friday at SUNY Cortland.

Roy-Hart graduate and Niagara Community College freshman Ashley Hill had a big day at the plate Saturday in helping the Thunderwolves softball team earn the split of a doubleheader with Jamestown Community College.

Hill had a perfect 4 for 4 effort at the plate including two doubles, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored in the opener as NCCC posted a 7-2 win.

Jamestown took the nightcap 11-7 but Hill again had a good game at the plate going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
