Coaches honor All County wrestling team

Two state championship tournament competitors, Medina senior Colby Petrie (126) and Lyndonville junior Mario Fidanza (220), head the annual All-Orleans County wrestling team as selected by the coaches.

Petrie, who is a four time Niagara-Orleans League champion, placed first at the Class C/D championship, third at the Section VI championship and then went 2-2 at the state championships to finish the season with a record of 31-7.

Fidanza, who placed third at the Section V championships to gain berth in the state meet, went 27-3 on the season including 18 pins.

Medina is also represented on the All County team by freshman RaShawn Bloom (99) who placed second at the N-O tournament and fourth at the Section VI championships finishing with s 16-9 record.

Lyndonville has also placed senior Chase Stinson (126), sophomore Rodney Davis (160) and freshman Connor Bell (113).

Stinson placed third at both e Class B tournament and the Section V championships finishing the season with a 33-9 record including 19 pins.

Davis placed third at the Class B tournament and went 25-16 on the season including 15 pins.

Bell also placed third at the Class B tourney and went 21-17 on the season including a dozen pins.

Holley-Kendall topped the All-County team with six honorees including seniors Erik Balys (152), Eli Stanton (170) and Cade Aina (182) along with juniors Tristyn Moyer (120) and Jayden Pieniaszek (126) and eighth grader Bruce Rasmusson.

Balys, who went third at the Class BB tournament and fourth at the Section V championships, was 35-7 on the season and finishes with a career record of 141-58.

Aina, who placed fourth at both the Class BB and Section V championships, went 40-6 and finishes with a career record of 125-28.

Stanton, who placed fourth at the Class BB tourney, went 32-10 and finishes with a career record of 57-46.

Moyer, who was fifth at the BB tourney and sixth at the Section V championships, went 33-8 and now has a career record of 125-34.

Pieniaszek placed second at the Class BB tourney posting a 32-7 record to improve his career mark to 97-18.

In his first varsity season, Rasmusson was fifth at the Class BB tourney and compiled a record of 33-7.

Albion is represented by a quintet of grapplers on the All-County team including senior Jessy Cruz (170), juniors Bryce Kelly (220) and Cody Wilson (285) along with freshmen Amilcar Morales (113) and Ellwood Hafner (120).

Cruz, who won the N-O All-League tourney and placed third at the Section VI Class B Tournament, went 22-9 on the season.

Kelly won the N-O tourney and placed fifth at the Class B championships while Haefer was third at the N-O tourney and fifth at the Class B meet.

Morales won the N-O tourney and went 22-14 on the season.

Wilson, who went 31-8, placed fourth at both the Class B tourney and the Section VI championships.

Petrie, Bloom, Stinson, Cruz, Wilson, Moyer, Pieniaszek, Balys and Aina are all repeat honorees.

Seven other wrestlers have earned Honorable Mention on the All-County squad including Medina freshman Robert Morehouse, Lyndonville sophomores Brennon Munn and Dillon Burt Hodgins along with the Holley-Kendall quartet of senior Frank Flynn, junior Dawson Custer, sophomore Austin Berns and freshman Dylan Clemons.

Clemons and Berns both placed second and Flynn third at the Class BB championships.
