Cleve Hill cagers down Roy-Hart

Regaining the .500 mark at 2-2, Cleveland Hill posted a 67-40 victory over visiting Roy-Hart this afternoon in a non league boys basketball game.

Up 27-19 at the half, Cleve Hill extended its advantage to 16 in the third period and Roy-Hart could get no closer than 9 after that.

Tyler Phillips scored a game high 23 points and Paul Woodward added 19  to lead the way for Cleve Hill.

Matt Borel scored 12, Brendon Hess 9, Charlie Brigham 6 and Jacob Bruning 5 for Roy-Hart.

Now at 2-4, Roy-Hart will open the Niagara-Orleans League campaign at Newfane on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Newfane swimmers sweep Akron
Newfane swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting Akron this morning in a Niagara-Orleans League makeup swim meet.

In the boys meet, Newfane evened its record at 1-1 by downing Akron (0-2) 97-57 as Zach Lundy was a double winner in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke and Drew Hamelink took both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke.

The defending champion Newfane girls improved to 2-0 with a 101-69 victory over Akron which slips to 1-1.

Newfane’s Lauren Gaughran doubled in the 200 Free and 500 Free as did Akron’s Julia Diebel in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke.
