Contributed Photo – Work is underway today to plow several inches of snow off of the blue turf field at Alden High in preparation for Saturday’s state field hockey semifinals. Barker is scheduled to face Bronxville at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in a Class C semifinal. The victor will face the winner of the 10 a.m. semi between Carle Place and Johnstown in the Class C championship game at 10 a.m. Sunday. Barker is appearing in the state semis for the second year in a row and for the sixth time since 2000. The semis and finals were originally scheduled to be held at Williamsville North but Tuesday’s major snowfall left North’s fields unplayable.
