Class wrestling tournaments on Saturday
Area high school wrestlers will begin their quest for a spot in the state championships when they compete in sectional class tournaments on Saturday.
Albion will compete in the Section VI Class B Tournament at Cheektowaga.
Medina, Roy-Hart/Barker, Newfane, Akron and Wilson will all compete in the Section VI Class C-D Tournament at Falconer.
Both of those competition are scheduled to being at 9 a.m. with the finals at 4:30 p.m.
The top five finishers in each weight class will advance to next weekend’s Section VI state qualifier tournament.
In Section V, Lyndonville will be competing in the Class B3 Tournament at Bolivar-Richburg.
Holley-Kendall will be competing in the Class B2 Tournament at Warsaw.
The finals in both competitions are slated for 4:30 p.m.
The top six finishers in each weight class will advance to next weekend’s Section V state qualifier tournament.
