Channel Cats shine at All-League meet

Regular season champion Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville took first place honors in five events at the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League boys swim meet held this evening at Newfane.

Andrew Ossont was an individual event double winner for the Channel Cats in the 50 Freestyle (:22.95) and the 100 Breaststroke (1:04.60) as Sean Labiak took the 200 Free (1:57.61).

The Channel Cats also captured both the 200 Medley Relay with Max Stern, Ossont, Zack Walker and Carson Hashem (1:51.76) and the 400 Free Relay with Ossont, Evan Gerdes, Stern and Labiak (3:42.43).

Albion had Dallas Ecker capture the 100 Butterfly (:59.23) and Finn McCue the 100 Free (:53.31). Ecker and McCue also teamed up with Mason Giatino and Justin Kania to win the 200 Free Relay (1:39.30).

Host Newfane had Noah Kneeland win both the 200 Individual Medley (2:11.91) and the 500 Free (5:18.65) and Elijah Thompson take the 100 Backstroke (:58.83).

Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville claimed top team honors with 421 points followed by Akron 345, Albion 298, Newfane 286 and Medina 176.
