Channel Cats sweep Seahorses

Defending champion Roy-Hart scored a 110-60 victory over visiting Medina (2-1) this afternoon to stay unbeaten at 3-0 in Niagara-Orleans League boys swim competition.

The Channel Cats were led by a quartet of individual event double winners including Mason Sparks (200 and 500 freestyle), Tanner Rees (200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke), Ray Sacks (50 free and 100 butterfly) and Elliot Spitzer (100 free and 100 backstroke).

The Roy-Hart girls (2-1) completed the sweep by downing Medina (0-3) 113-57 led by a trio of double winners including Alex Hill (individual medley and butterfly), Lindsay Yates (50 free and backstroke) and Emily DiMayo (500 free and breaststroke).

The Albion boys squad evened its N-O record at 1-1 by defeating visiting Akron (0-3) 68-26.

Morgan Seielstad doubled in the 200 and 500 free, Devin Olles in the 50 and 100 free and Bailey Maier added a win in the backstroke to lead the Purple Eagles.

Getting individual event wins from five different swimmers, the Akron girls downed Albion 59-35 to improve to 2-1.

Elizabeth Furmanski doubled in the individual medley and 100 free for Albion which slips to 0-2. Ashley Hapeman added win in the 50 free for the Purple Eagles.

The Barker boys improved to 2-0 by downing Newfane (0-3) 89-72.

Collin Webb doubled in the 100 and 200 free and Casey Webb in the 50 free and butterfly to lead the Raiders.

The defending champion Newfane girls bested Barker (1-1) 107-62 to stay unbeaten at 3-0.

Allie DeBiase double in the butterfly and breaststroke an Meghan Mietlicki in the individual medley and 100 free and Lydia Gaughran in the 50 and 500 free to lead the way for Newfane.
