Channel Cats sweep Seahorses

Roy-Hart swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet.

The Channel Cats won the boys meet 103.5-65.5 and the girls competition 112-60.

Tanner Rees was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Nate Mikoll in the 50 Free and 100 Free to lead the Channel Cats which also got wins from Jack Daly in the 200 Free and Madigan Lang in the 500 Free.

Jack Hill won the 100 Butterfly and Daniel Heil the 100 Backstroke for Medina.

Defending champion Roy-Hart is now 2-0 and Medina 1-2.

The Roy-Hart girls were likewise led by a pair of individual event double winners as Alex Hill took the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly and Kayla Hagen the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke. The Channel Cats also had Alex Fox win the 200 Individual Medley, Amanda Hill the 50 Free, Sandy Sparks the 500 Free and Emily DiMayo the 100 Breaststroke.

Roy-Hart is now 1-1 and Medina 1-2.

Albion, Newfane split
Albion defeated Newfane 59-35 in the boys meet as Matt Kovaleski doubled in the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly. Carlitos Sanchez also took the 100 Free and Harrison Brown the 500 Free for the Purple Eagles.

Andrew Hamelink was a double winner for Newfane in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke.

Albion improves to 3-0 and Newfane slips to 1-2.

Newfane earned a split on the day by taking the girls meet 64-30 as Annmarie Aber doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Butterfly.

Liz Furmanski doubled for Albion in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Free.

Newfane is now 3-0 and Albion 0-3.

Barker splits with Akron
The Barker boys squad defeated Akron 111-55 as Andrew Jenks doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Free, Collin Webb in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Collin Stevener in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke.

Barker is now 1-1 and Akron 0-3.

Akron downed Barker 109-61 in the girls meet as Julia Diebel doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke and Mindy Doktor in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

Akron improves to 2-1 and Barker slips to 1-1.
