Channel Cats sweep Purple Eagles

Roy-Hart scored a sweep over host Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet this afternoon.

The Channel Cats won the boys’ meet 67-24 and the girls’ competition 61-31.

Andrew Ossont was a double winner in the 100 Free and 100 Breaststroke and Zach Livergood in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke for the Roy-Hart boys which stay unbeaten at 7-0.

Mandy Hill doubled in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke and Julia Miles in the 200 Free and 500 Free for the Roy-Hart girls.

The Channel Cats win combined with Akron’s victory over Newfane (94-74) puts the N-O title race in a tight three way battle. Akron is now 5-1 while Roy-Hart and Newfane are both 5-2. Roy-Hart hosts Akron on Thursday.

The Medina boys improved to 5-1 by downing host Barker 112-31.

Jaxon Phillips doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke for the Seahorses as Isaac Pace took the 100 Butterfly, Ben Griffin the 100 Breaststroke, Michael Marker the 200 Individual Medley and Caiden Class the 500 Free.

Ryan Santarsiero was a double winner for Barker in the 200 Free and 100 Free.

The Barker girls downed Medina 80-60.

Emma McGrath doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke for Barker as did Maddy Satkowski in the IM and 100 Free for Medina.

In the day’s other meet, Akron swept Newfane winning the boys’ meet 85-69 and the girls’ competition 94-74.

Medina 36, Canisius 33

Medina nipped host Canisius 36-33 in a non league match as Dominick Callara and Noah Skinner both registered pins for the Mustangs.

Medina’s scheduled Niagara-Orleans League home match against Roy-Hart on Wednesday has been postponed.
