Channel Cats top Albion to open title defense

Roy-Hart/Barker opened defense of its Niagara-Orleans League boys and girls swim titles by scoring a sweep over visiting Albion this evening.
The Channel Cats won the boys’ meet 95-62 and the girls’ competition 104-65.
The Roy-Hart/Barker boys squad was led by a trio of individual event double winners including Carson Hashem (50 Free and 100 Free), Nick Armenia (200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly) and Sean Labiak (200 Free, 100 Backstroke).
Mason Giattino won the 500 Free and Matt Kania the 100 Breaststroke for Albion.
Julia Miles doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free for the Roy-Hart/Barker girls as Abigail Glyshaw took the 200 Free, Madelina Pavlock the 500 Free and Ava Achtyl the 100 Backstroke.
Keira Sidari was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly and Willow Gaines took the 100 Breaststroke for the Albion girls.
In the day’s other meet, Akron swept host Medina winning the boys’ competition 105-49 and the girls’ 98-42.
Bryson Ford was a double winner in the Butterfly and Breaststroke for the Medina boys and Madelynn Rutledge took the Backstroke for the girls.
Finn McCue competes in the 200 Medley Relay for Albion.
