Channel Cats claim N-O swim championships

The Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville teams both scored road victories over runner-up Akron this evening to capture the Niagara-Orleans League swim championships.

The RBL girls squad completed a perfect 8-0 championship season with a 102-66 victory.

Julia Miles was a double winner in the 50 Free and 100 Free for the Channel Cats as Abigail Glyshaw took the 200 Free and Ava Actyl the 100 Backstroke.

Mayah Harris doubled in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke and Audrey Garverick took both the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Free for Akron which finishes at 6-2.

The RBL boys squad downed Akron 97-72 to complete a 7-1 title season.

Andres Ossont took both the 50 Free and Breaststroke and Sean Labiak the 200 Free and Backstroke for the Channel Cats.

Aiden Polkowski doubled in the IM and 100 Free and Dawson Stone took the Butterfly and Colton Cleveland the 500 Free for Akron which finishes at 6-2.

Albion sweeps Newfane
Albion capped off the N-O regular season with a sweep of Newfane. The Purple Eagles won the boys’ meet 52-41 and the girls’ competition 51-43.

Dallas Ecker won the Butterfly, Finn McCue the 100 and Justin Kania the 500 Free for the Albion boys squad which finishes at 3-5.

Elijah Thompson doubled in the 50 Free and Backstroke and Noah Kneeland won both the IM and Breaststroke and Daenon Kopp took the 200 Free for Newfane which winds up at 4-4.

Willow Gaines won the Breaststroke, Mia Olles the 200 Free, Maggie Olles the 50 Free and Julia Fuller the 500 Free for the Albion girls squad which finishes at 3-5.

Avery Stevenson won both the IM and 500 Free, Kimberly Schmitt the Butterfly and Lauren Enderton the Backstroke for Newfane which winds up at 2-6.
