Channel Cats sweep Seahorses

Defending champion Roy-Hart took first place in 10 of 11 events to down host Medina 110-54 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League boys swim meet.

The Roy-Hart girls completed the sweep by defeating Medina 96-73.

Individual event double winners Mason Sparks (200 Freestyle, 50 Free) and Tanner Rees (100 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke) led the way for the Roy-Hart boys squad which also had Patrick Sheelar take the 200 Individual Medley, Nathan Mikoll the 100 Free and Madigan Lang the 500 Free.

Daniel Heil won the 100 Backstroke for Medina.

Roy-Hart stays unbeaten at 3-0 while Medina is now 2-1.

The Roy-hart girls were led by a trio individual event double winners as Alex Hill took the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly, Emily DiMayo the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Kayla Hagan the 500 Free and 100 Back.

Emma Gardner doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Medina. She also teamed up with Andrea Toussaint, Hannah Heil and Alyssa Beyer to win the 200 Free Relay.

Roy-Hart improves to 2-1 and Medina slips to 0-3.

Medina’s Emma Gardner was a double winner in the 50 and 100 Freestyle events.

Newfane sweeps Barker

Newfane swept to a doubleheader victory over host Barker winning the boys meet 89-76 and the girls competition 104-66.

Now at 1-2, the Newfane boys were led by double winners Andrew Hamelink (200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly) and Conor Schultz (200 Free, 500 Free).

Collin Webb doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Barker which is now 1-2.

The defending champion Newfane girls improved to 3-0 as Allie DeBiase doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Lydia Gaughran in the 100 Butterfly an 500 Free.

Barker is now 1-2.
