KNOWLESVILLE – Orleans County Chamber of Commerce’s Home, Garden and Outdoor Show is fast approaching, and plans are in full swing for the annual event, scheduled this year April 1 and 2 at Orleans County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Chamber director Darlene Hartway said this will be the Chamber’s best home show, with twice as many vendors, enhanced prizes, free admission and fantastic food. Vendors will be set up in the Lartz Building and outdoors.

Hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 2. Parking is ample and also free, according to Hartway.

A children’s Easter Egg hunt is designed for children to participate any time they arrive at the home show.

On April 1, the Albion Elks will serve a chicken barbecue and on April 2, Dubby’s Pizza will be on site.

Those attending the show have the opportunity to win one of three prizes this year. Instead of buying an admission ticket, Hartway said attendees will be able to purchase tickets for a raffle, which will feature prizes designed to fit the theme of the home show – home, garden and outdoors.

Prizes are a fully installed blooming garden designed by A. Preston Landscaping, with trees, shrubs and plants; a wooden bistro set; or a pair of gravity chaise lounges.

There will be random prizes drawn by vendors throughout both days.

The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance.

Also new this year will be a small spring plant sale, featuring Easter lilies and tulips, and a small stage set up in the Trolley Building where presentations will take place at scheduled times. These include Larkin Tree Service, talking about plant and tree health; Michael Klapp, a Master Gardner, talking about nature; and Berkshire Hathaway/Zambito Realty, who will talk about buying and selling a home in 2023.

Several banks are scheduled to discuss banking , home mortgages and home repair. Tastefully Simple and Hartway will do a presentation for Weber Kitchen in Lyndonville. Programs listing all the vendors and a schedule of the presentations will be handed out to each person who enters the show.

Leonard Oakes Estate Winery and Schwenk Winery will have wine tasting both days.

More information is available on the Chamber’s website at www.orleanschamber.com.

“Our mission is not to make money,” Hartway said. “Our purpose is to showcase all the vendors and promote their businesses.”
