Carlton upends Rotary to open Albion Midget League playoffs

No. 6 seed Carlton trimmed No. 3 Rotary 4-2 this evening in the opening round of the Albion Midget League playoffs.

The other three quarterfinal games – Holley vs. Barre, St. Mary’s vs. Sandstone and Vets vs. Actives – were postponed and are scheduled to be made up at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Damien Lattimer hurled a 3 hitter with 15 strikeouts to lead the way for Carlton.

Carlton scored all of its runs in the second inning as Yaudiel Castillo had the big hit.

Dominic Burton had an RBI triple for Rotary.

Carlton will next face the winner of the St. Mary’s/Sandstone game in the semifinals on Thursday.
