Carlton scores two Midget League wins
Carlton scored a pair of victories this past week in Albion Midget League action first edging Rotary 14-13 and then blanking Elba/Barre 5-0.
A fifth inning home run by Gavin Boyce provided the margin of victory for Carlton against Rotary.
Carlton also had a big nine run third inning highlighted by a three-run triple by Logan Grager and a two-run triple by Noah Kowalski.
Noah Harrison had a three-run home run and Issac Sugar a two-run triple for Rotary.
Boyce then hurled Carlton past Elba/Barre registering 15 strikeouts.
At the plate, Colin McMullen had a two-run triple.
For Elba/Barre Bing Zuber had a double.
In the other game, Sandstone shutout Elba/Barre 4-0 as Omer Fugate pitched a one hitter with 13 strikeouts.
Elliot Trapiss, Wesley LeFrois and Brayden LaMartino each had a pair of hits for Sandstone. Trapiss’ hits included a home run.
Sandstone is now 2-0, Carlton 2-1, Rotary 1-2 and Elba/Barre 0-3.
