Cambria bests Medina U12 Fillies

Building up a 12-0 lead, Cambria went on to defeat the host Medina U12 Fillies 17-4 Tuesday in a Metro Girls Softball League game at Butts Park.

Reanna Perkins, who pitched the first 3 innings registering 3 strikeouts, hit a first inning home run to ignite the offense for Cambria which broke the game open with 6 runs in the third and 4 more in the fourth.

Medina blanked Cambria in the fifth with outs by shortstop Ryan Olles, first baseman Faithann Vanderwalker and left fielder Carina Kingsbury.

Medina then got on the scoreboard in the home half of the frame with three runs on a single from Lexi Hare, a hit by pitch by Hannah Kenward, and an RBI single by Paige Adkins.

The Fillies other run came in the sixth on a single by Chloe Stinson and an RBI double by Gracie Hughes but the bases were left loaded.

Hare and Oberther shared the pitching duties in the circle for the Fillies.

Hare had two hits on the evening as Olles had the Fillies other hit.
