Busy week to feature Kendall, Albion tourneys

The annual Kendall girls soccer tournament and the Albion volleyball tourney will highlight the upcoming week of area high school sports action.
Kendall will host Albion at 7 p.m. Thursday in the opening round of the soccer tournament which will conclude on Saturday. Bishop Kearney will face York in the first semifinal at 5 p.m.
The Lady Eagles will also visit rival Holley in a Genesee Region League contest on Wednesday.
The eight team field for the Albion volleyball tourney on Saturday will include Medina, Roy-Hart, Kendall, Newfane, Pembroke, Oakfield-Alabama/Elba and Pembroke.
The Albion spikers will also begin defense of their Niagara-Orleans League title on Wednesday by hosting Roy-Hart.
Boys soccer action will feature Roy-Hart at Albion on Monday and Akron at Medina/Lyndonville on Thursday in N-O games.
A big early season N-O field hockey contest will feature defending champion Akron at Barker on Thursday. Last fall Akron claimed the N-O crown with an 11-1 record edging out Barker (10-1-1) and ending the Lady Raiders nine league league title reign.
On the gridiron, Albion will host Alden and Medina/Lyndonville will visit Lackawanna on Friday in B East Division games. Holley will then visit CG Finney and Barker/Roy-hart travels to Notre Dame of Batavia on Saturday afternoon in non league contests.
