Sectional diamond action set for busy Monday
Sectional baseball playoff action will swing into high gear on Monday.
In Section VI Class B2, No. 6 seed Medina will open defense of its title by hosting No. 11 JFK at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to a quarterfinal round contest at No. 3 Eden on Tuesday.
Also in Class B2, No. 5 Roy-Hart will host No. 12 Cleveland Hill and No. 8 Akron will entertain No. 9 Newfane at 5 p.m. The Roy-Hart vs. Cleve Hill winner will visit No. 4 Fredonia in the quarterfinals on Tuesday while the Akron vs. Newfane victor will visit top seeded Alden.
In Class B1, No. 8 Albion will host No. 9 Dunkirk at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to a Tuesday contest at No. 1 City Honors.
In Class C, No. 11 Barker visits No. 6 Salamanca and No. 9 Wilson travels to No. 8 Chautauqua Lake in 5 p.m. contests.
Section VI playoff action also gets underway at 5 p.m. Monday as No. 8 Lyndonville hosts No. 9 Byron-Bergen in Class C3 and No. 10 Holley visits No. 7 Alexander in Class C1.
Two local Section V softball games at 5 p.m. Monday will have No. 1 Lyndonville hosting G-R foe No. 8 Notre Dame in Class C3 and No.3 Kendall entertaining No. 6 Pavilion in Class C2.
