Busy basketball Friday is on tap
Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Medina’s Nate Sherman and his Mustang teammates will visit Roy-Hart on Friday evening for a Niagara-Orleans League game.
The Niagara-Orleans League will resume boys and girls basketball competition on Friday following the holiday break.
Defending champion Medina will be looking to snap a two league game losing streak as the Mustangs (1-2) will visit Roy-Hart (0-2) to highlight the N-O boys schedule which will also have Wilson at front-running Albion (3-0) at 7 p.m. and Akron at Newfane at 6:30 p.m.
The N-O girls slate will have Roy-Hart at Medina and Newfane at Akron at 6:30 p.m. and league leading Albion (3-0) at Wilson at 6 p.m.
A non league boys contest will have Barker at Lyndonville at 1:30 p.m.
The Holley boy basketball tournament will also get underway on Friday with the Hawks hosting rival Kendall at 7 p.m. The opening game will have Rochester Charter Academy vs. Destiny of Rochester.
The consolation and championship games will be on Saturday.
In wrestling competition on Saturday Albion will be at the Alexander Tournament.
