Trailing 13-12, Burgard put together a 26-5 second period scoring explosion to open up a commanding 38-18 half-time advantage. Brandon Myers and Deamonte Riley both scored 8 and Markel Ford 6 to lead that surge as the Bulldogs dominated on the boards and capitalized on a rash of Mustang turnovers.

The Bullldogs maintained a 42-31 lead after three quarters.

Riley finished with a game high 20 points and Myers 17.

Jalin Cooper scored 14 and Izaiah Rhim 11 to lead Medina as Johnny Salone and Alex Allis both had 6, Mason Lewis 5 and Tyrellis Atkins 2.

The Mustangs used a 7-0 run on a dunk by Cooper, a layup by Salone and a 3 by Allis to grab the narrow 13-12 first quarter lead.

Now at 1-2, Medina next hosts CSAT in a non league game at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
